This year, we are told, our eyelashes must be bigger, blacker, bolder and braver than ever before. Subtlety, it seems, is seriously last season …!
All hail ‘big eyelashes’! The SS16 catwalk shows at Fendi, Céline, Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein, to name but a few, featured models with fiercely fake lashes – some short, sharp and comic book, others spidery, long and frankly false, and many with graphic eyeliner and bold colours for emphasis.
Taking the trend yet further into left field, models at DAKS, Mary Katrantzou and Thomas Tait wore long, asymmetric, doll eyelashes spiking in several different directions – labour-intensive, wild and brave, this look was rather beautiful but not for the fainthearted ….
With so many models flashing full-on, fake and rather OTT eyelashes at the SS16 fashion shows, this new trend is now officially a Look for spring and summer 2016, which may seem rather scary and not ideal for us normal mortals. Striding fearlessly down a fashion forward catwalk is one thing but turning up at the office or the school gates flashing outrageously outré lashes is quite another….!
But fear not, Lara Lashes is at hand and you can still go to the big lash ball. If SS16 isn’t the season to be subtle, then go for sassy instead. Boldly go glam and gorgeous – but in a good and less scary way! Let Lara Lashes turn up the volume and up the ante without frightening your friends, alarming your husband or embarrassing your children.
And there is more good news. At the fashion shows the models’ high impact eyelashes were mostly achieved with mascara (and many, many eyelash strips for the broken doll look!). With mascara, added oomph usually means added weight and lots of layers, but happily this is not the case with eyelash extensions. Hallelujah!
Super volume and super impact can be achieved in much lighter, more comfortable ways – by using our super-light eyelash extensions to give a full, luxe and luscious look without the weight. Different length lash extensions can also be applied to create depth and interest. The possibilities are endless!
